Symptom

The yew2K menu won't open

Three causes, in order: the script is not running, the build is outdated, or the controller is not in A1. And the menu draws on the Zen's OLED, not the TV.

Most likely: Controller not in A1, script not running, or an outdated build.

Check in this order

  1. Look at the OLED. It should show the script name. If it shows the Gearhead logo, no script is running: select the right slot or load the script again.
  2. Move the controller to the A1 port on the front. PROG and CONSOLE are not read by the script.
  3. Hold L2, then press Options. Keep L2 held. The menu ignores the D-pad if L2 is released.
  4. If the OLED shows the yew2K logo, wait. That is the 1500 ms boot lockout.
  5. Still nothing: re-download the build from the generator on yew.gg, recompile, load it again. Outdated builds are the third cause.

You are looking in the wrong place

The menu is drawn on the Zen's OLED. Nothing appears on the TV. The current mod page is shown with n / total in the bottom-right corner.

It opens but Up/Down only toggles

That is normal. Up/Down toggles On/Off. To change a millisecond value, hold Cross while tapping Up/Down on a page that has a value (Button Rhythm, Auto-Green, Left/Right Fade, Standstill, Catch Shoot, Step Back, Step Delay, QS Pause/Delay/Shot).
