Stick drift: the player moves or shots start on their own

Raise the deadzone. Start around 5% on both sticks and increase it until the drift stops.

Most likely: Deadzone too low for a worn stick.

Fix

  1. In 2K's controller settings, note the current deadzone on each stick. Around 5% is the usual starting point.
  2. Raise the drifting stick's deadzone in small steps.
  3. Stop as soon as the player stays still with the stick untouched. Bigger deadzone means less stick travel.
  4. Retest Auto-Green in online MyCourt: click R3 while standing still.

Why drift breaks Auto-Green

Standstill Auto-Green only fires when the right stick is inside the centre. A drifting stick reads as off-centre, so the R3 click does nothing. Raising the deadzone puts the resting position back inside the centre.

Why drift can start shots

2K reads right-stick movement as a shot or a dribble. A stick that rests off-centre can start either. The deadzone fix above covers this too.
